Preserving Toledo’s Landmarks: How Aerial Inspections Make Revitalization Smarter and Safer
Aerial inspections just make sense—for safety, efficiency, and cost. At Toledo Aerial Media, we help organizations make well-informed decisions about aging infrastructure without ever putting personnel in harm’s way. By capturing high-quality visuals from the air, we’re able to assess current conditions quickly and safely—then provide the data needed to determine the best next steps.
Here’s a quick look into a live inspection we completed in partnership with Lucas County Land Bank and RAM Construction Services. The focus: a historic church and landmark structure in the heart of Toledo. The goal of this inspection was to evaluate the exterior condition of the building and identify potential revitalization needs.
Using drone technology, we were able to deploy rapidly and reach every height and angle necessary—without the need for cranes or risky manual climbs. Drones are especially valuable for inspecting tall or complex structures like this one, where deterioration can occur in hard-to-reach places.
What sets our aerial inspections apart is the ability to collaborate in real time. On this project, the client was on site with us, observing the flight and directly guiding what they wanted to see. They’re the experts in what they’re looking for—we simply make sure we capture it, clearly and accurately. This live feedback loop ensures that nothing is missed, and our findings are aligned with the client's objectives from the start.
Whether it's for preservation, restoration, or routine evaluation, drone-based inspections are a safer, faster, and more cost-effective solution for today’s infrastructure needs.
